In 2009, the concept of "Determination X Creativity" (DXC) was born out of a vision to celebrate and highlight the achievements of Black culture through a powerful and inspiring platform. Conceived as a print and online publication, DXC aimed to embody the purest forms of intellect, artistry, determination, and creativity. It sought to be the Black version of Rolling Stone magazine, infused with the essence and cultural influence of iconic publications like Ebony, Jet, and Black Enterprise. The goal was to capture stories through photojournalistic lenses that celebrated Black excellence, resilience, and the power of creative expression.
However, as with many bold and pioneering ideas, the DXC concept faced challenges. Life’s unpredictability and unforeseen circumstances meant that the publication could not come to fruition at the time. The vision, though temporarily paused, remained a powerful and untapped source of inspiration—a blueprint for showcasing the strength and vibrancy of Black culture that was waiting for the right moment to re-emerge.
Years later, the founder of MNH Tees & Apparel, alongside his development team, revisited the DXC idea. Recognizing that its message was more relevant and necessary than ever, they decided to revive and reimagine DXC for today’s audience. The result was a transformation of the original concept into something even more dynamic and far-reaching. The "Determination X Creativity" brand evolved beyond its initial print aspirations and was reborn as a dual-force: an apparel collection and a digital magazine.
This new evolution of DXC is driven by a mission to motivate and inspire. The apparel collection and the accompanying digital platform aim to serve as constant reminders that, no matter the obstacles faced, one must always pursue their dreams and strive to become the best version of oneself. The DXC movement is an equation for success—showcasing how determination multiplied by creativity leads to excellence and accomplishment.
The DXC collection and platform act as a bridge between generations, particularly focusing on the Gen X and Hip-Hop era, a time marked by resilience, authenticity, and the fight for individuality. By highlighting this period and its cultural significance, DXC connects past and present, demonstrating how the values of hard work, creativity, and determination are timeless. The Hip Hop generation, particularly Gen X, pioneered a culture of self-expression and empowerment, and the DXC concept embraces this energy to inspire future generations to carry that torch forward.
With each piece of apparel and each digital story, the DXC brand encourages individuals to express their own journeys of resilience and creativity. It’s about more than just clothing; it’s about building a movement that celebrates heritage, amplifies voices, and motivates people to keep pushing forward. DXC serves as a reminder that, despite setbacks, dreams can be realized when fueled by determination and creativity.
The revitalization of DXC by MNH Tees & Apparel is a testament to the power of perseverance and the belief that the right ideas never truly fade—they simply wait for the right moment to flourish. By transforming the concept into an apparel collection and digital platform, DXC reaffirms its commitment to empowering individuals to reach their full potential and live their best lives.
